Services We Provide

The district provides a variety of services related to the conservation of our natural resources.
Please call or visit the office for more information.

  • Conservation Planning - Conservation planning assistance helps the land user make management decisions
based on practical considerations. The plan includes: environmental evaluation, planning maps and soils
information, record of land user's decisions, nutrient and pest management, and technical information. Growers
are encouraged to use Best Management Practices (BMPs) in their plans of operation.

  • Soil Survey - The soil survey is a publication which contains information that can be used in land planning
programs. It provides maps, descriptions of soils and tables of predictions of soil behavior for selected land uses.
It is a valuable tool for farmers, ranchers, planners, builders, conservationists, teachers, and students.

Programs

  • EQIP - The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) offers cost share assistance to
agricultural producers to implement agricultural conservation practices. The Farm Service Agency
(FSA) determines the eligibility of producers for the EQIP program. The Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) determines the eligibility of the land. Eligible producers may apply for
cost share assistance on conservation practices that will address the identified resource concern that
has been identified by the Local Work Group (LWG).

  • State Brush Control -  The Texas Brush Control Program is a voluntary cost-share program under the
leadership of the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) and local Soil and Water
Conservation Districts (SWCDs). The Program is designed to enhance water availability by removing
water-consuming brush, such as mesquite and juniper, in Texas watersheds with critical water needs.
